DIRT ROAD BASKETBALL LEAGUE INFORMATION

2025-2026 League Play:

GRADES 3 & 4
- League play begins Sunday, December 7, 2025.
  - December: 7, 14, and 21.
  - January: 4, 11, 18, and 25.
  - February: 1 make up date if needed.

GRADE 2
- League play begins Sunday, December 7, 2025.
- December: 7, 14, and 21.
- January: 4, 11, 18.

League Setup:
- Teams will play two games each Sunday.
- Admission: $5 per person ($20 max per immediate family)

Goal Heights:

Hosts will do their best to accommodate these over this year.
2ND GRADE: 8'
3RD GRADE: 9'
4-6TH GRADE: 10'

Other Rules:

18 minute running clock halves
ALL grades will use the same ball size = 28.5
ALL players must be enrolled in the school district of the team they are playing on
First team listed will be the home team
Home team will provide someone to run the scorebook
Visiting team will provide someone to run the clock

Game Rules:

Free Throws
- Shoot TWO on the 7th team foul
Free Throw Distances
- 2nd, 3rd, & 4th Grades = 13'
  - **IHSAA Rule: Shooter can NOT rebound until the ball touches the rim.
- 5th & 6th Grades = use the actual free throw line
Timeouts
- 3 per game. 1 additional for overtime
Clock stops the final minute of each half
Overtime(s) - 1:00 long, sudden death if tied after that.
Pressing
- 2nd and 3rd is only allowed in the last 10 minutes of the game.
- NO pressing allowed by a team with a lead of 20 or more.
- Pressing for 3rd-4th grades must be a man to man press with no trapping in the backcourt (Exception: last minute of the game, teams may trap).
Zone
- No zone defenses at 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grade level.
ALL other IHSAA rules apply.
Calls made by referees are final.
